What Is Reentry

Reentry happens when someone gets out of jail or prison and “reenters” society. Reentering society may include challenges. A criminal record can create a barrier to employment, housing, public benefits, and other necessities. The Reentry Program at the Legal Aid Society of Middle Tennessee and the Cumberlands helps people overcome these barriers and connect with other resources. This can make the reentry process easier.

In addition to reentry…

Legal Aid can help with other civil, legal problems like housing access, evictions, and other landlord-tenant matters; access to public benefits, appeals related to unemployment benefits, and social security; and consumer rights.
