Join Our Team: Senior HR Business Partner

Legal Aid Society of Middle Tennessee and the Cumberlands is seeking an experienced and mission-driven Senior HR Business Partner to join our Nashville, TN team.

As our primary HR leader, this full-time role is an exceptional opportunity for a seasoned HR professional to make a meaningful and lasting impact — both within our organization and in the communities we serve across Middle Tennessee and the Cumberlands. This position will play a central role in shaping our people strategy, strengthening HR infrastructure, and building the foundation for a scalable, high-performing HR function.

About the Role

The Senior HR Business Partner will serve as a strategic and hands-on HR leader supporting multiple offices across our organization. This individual will partner closely with executive leadership and Managing Attorneys to align HR strategy with organizational goals, lead workforce planning and organizational design, and oversee the full spectrum of day-to-day HR operations — from employee relations and performance management to compliance, benefits administration, and HRIS management.

As the HR function grows, this role will also have the opportunity to help define and build our HR team structure, making it an ideal position for a professional who is eager to lead and grow alongside the organization.

What We’re Looking For

The ideal candidate brings 7+ years of progressive HR experience, demonstrated expertise in Tennessee and federal employment law, and a proven ability to advise senior leaders and influence organizational decision-making. Experience in nonprofit or mission-driven organizations is strongly preferred, as is familiarity with Paylocity and SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR certification.

Compensation & Benefits

This is a full-time position with a salary range of $90,000 – $105,000, commensurate with experience. We offer a comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, and vision insurance, HSA, life insurance, short-term disability, 401(k), and generous vacation, sick leave, and holiday time.
