تعلن جمعية المساعدة القانونية عن رئاسة الحملة المجتمعية لعام 2016

George-Anderson

NASHVILLE, Tenn., August 9, 2016—Legal Aid Society of Middle Tennessee and the Cumberlands, Tennessee’s largest non-profit law firm, announced today that George Anderson, co-founder of Anderson Benson insurance agency, will serve as the 2016 community campaign chair for its Campaign for Equal Justice fundraising campaign.

This year’s goal is to raise $827,000 to support Legal Aid Society’s mission to advance access to justice across Middle Tennessee and the Cumberland Plateau. The community campaign supports this initiative by raising money from non-legal donors in Middle Tennessee.

“We are grateful to George for providing leadership this year to raise funds from those outside the legal world,” said Gary Housepian, Legal Aid Society’s executive director. “He understands the importance and value of our services to our community and is working hard to assist us in providing access to justice for thousands of Tennesseans.”

Anderson co-founded Anderson Benson in 2012. He began his career with the former Polk & Sullivan in Nashville in 1986. During his tenure with Polk & Sullivan and its successor organizations, Synaxis Group and First Horizon Insurance, Anderson served in a variety of executive positions and served as President of First Horizon Insurance from 2004 to 2009. He is a former member of the board of directors of the Insurors of Tennessee, Assurex International and The Council of Insurance Agents & Brokers.

Anderson serves on the Frist Center for the Visual Arts Development Council, Metropolitan Nashville Parks and Recreation Board of Commissioners and Nashville Convention & Visitors Corp. Corporate Council. He is a member of The Cultural Landscape Foundation Stewardship Committee and previously served on the Conservancy Board as Chair. He is a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and the Wharton Executive Leadership Development Program.

“The lack of support in the civil justice system is one of the most overlooked problems society has,” said Anderson. “There are so many people in our community who need someone to stand with them and let them know they can make it through tough times. I want to educate those in the Middle Tennessee area why having an organization that can provide this counsel and advocacy is important to them, their families and our community. By giving to Legal Aid Society, we can all support a stronger community.”
