Legal Aid Society has an immediate opening for a part-time Accounting Clerk in its Nashville office. The work schedule is 20-25 hours per week, Monday-Friday, but is flexible. The Accounting Clerk will assist the Accountant in various accounting functions as needed and will be responsible for processing accounts payable and accounts receivable. Other duties include processing employee reimbursements; preparing credit card reconciliations, reviewing accounting transactions, assisting with monthly, interim, and year-end tasks as needed, and reconciling bank accounts. Assures compliance with program policies and regulations of the Legal Services Corporation and other funders. The Accounting Clerk reports to the Accountant.
Applicants should have 1-2 years of accounts payable and accounts receivable accounting experience, preferably with a non-profit. Experience with Great Plains accounting software and Legal Files client database is preferred. Must be organized and meticulously detail oriented, have excellent oral and written communication skills and the ability to multi-task and shift priorities. Candidates should have strong experience with Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Outlook; the ability to work collaboratively; excellent organizational skills and proven ability to meet deadlines.
